What is collected while you are on this site, who collects it, and how to stop it.

What we collect ourselves

Nothing that identifies you. This site has no account system, no newsletter sign-up and no comment form. We do not set advertising cookies and we do not build a profile of you.

Third parties that do set cookies

Two services can set a cookie in your browser from these pages. Viator, a Tripadvisor company, sets a tracking cookie when you click through to a tour, which is how a booking is attributed to this site. Google Maps sets cookies when the embedded map on the homepage loads, which is why that map only loads when you choose to open it.

Both are covered by their own policies: Viator’s privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy.

Server logs

The hosting provider keeps standard access logs — IP address, browser, the page requested, the time. These are used to keep the site running and to spot abuse, and they are not linked to anything else.

How to opt out

Blocking third-party cookies in your browser stops the Viator tracking cookie. The site works exactly the same without it, and so does your booking. Not opening the map stops the Google cookies, and most browsers also send a Do Not Track signal, which the services above may or may not honour.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you can ask what personal data is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and complain to a supervisory authority. Since we hold none, most of those requests are best directed at the services named above. The supervisory authority in the United Kingdom is the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Questions go to the contact page, and the commercial relationship behind the booking links is set out on the affiliate disclosure.
